Mona Larsen was born and raised in Denmark, and when she was a child, she travelled regularly to Italy with her family.
At the young age of just 15 years old, she began to transform her deep passion for Italy into her future profession. Her first job was working at ENIT’s (Italy’s national tourism board’s) office in Copenhagen every summer. At age 19, she moved to Naples and then to Salerno, where she studied Tourism for 3 years. During her first years in Italy, Mona worked as a tour leader for Americans, Germans and Italians to the archeological sites and other popular destinations in the Campania Region, like Pompeii, Paestum, Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Mona speaks Italian, Danish, English and German. She then began working with local travel agencies in various different roles. Over the years her work experiences have given her a 360° perspective of the travel business, particularly in Italy. She is an expert in many aspects of our business ranging from educational and youth travel to customized group travel design, property management, FIT itineraries, flight arrangement, and even the outgoing market.
She also is active in many marketing related tasks and relationship management activities with our partners throughout Italy. Mona also has years of experience in the social sector, which have deeply changed her vision of people and society in general, often leading her to do things differently.
Mona’s meeting with Seth Snider in 2000 was a life-changer which gave her the opportunity to build something truly unique from the ground up. Mona is proud to be a part of a company which has provided invaluable professional opportunities for a talented team of young travel professionals in Italy. Your Private Italy is a big part of her daily life, and she feels her personal life is linked very closely with the company’s day to day activities. Mona is married to an Italian and lives year-round in Salerno, the southernmost city of the Amalfi Coast.
