The Cilento Coast is the magical strip of coastline south of Amalfi. Famous for its crystalline waters the Cilento Coast is the most awarded coastal area of Campania with the highest concentration of pristine ‘blue flag’ beaches. The area is known for its national park, on of Italy’s greatest and is a great base to visit the marvellous areas of Paestum, Salerno, Palinuro, Marina di Camerotta, and the like.
The property, located in the historic town of Vibonati, was originally constructed in the 18th century and maintains many of its original pieces of art and furniture.
Entrance to the property brings you directly to the pool area, which boasts a 4x9m swimming pool on a handmade brick terracotta pavement, enjoying a covered patio for al fresco dining, a wonderful hammock, and an antique well dating back to the 700’s. The pool deck is furnished with lounge chairs and umbrellas perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views of the sea on one side and the mountains and old town on the other. There is also a semi-covered veranda equipped with a barbecue and a dining table seating 10. The pool deck also enjoys a full guest bathroom with a washing machine.
Just a few steps down from the pool deck brings you to the garden where one can enjoy its fresh fruits and vegetables.
The ground floor of the property is directly accessible from the veranda. The ground floor is divided into three areas: a sitting area equipped with an antique table and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen (complete with two large refrigerators/frizers, an oven, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, etc.), and a studio corner with an antique desk equipped with a portable PC and printer. This area is furnished with an antique sofa with armchairs from the 800’s, a small wooden table, and a ½ bathroom. Like most of the bathrooms in this property, the ½ bath on the ground floor is lined with precious Tuscan marble and olive parquet.
All three of the ground floor areas boast direct access to the veranda that illuminates the entire space.
Two flights of steps (8 steps each) lead from the ground floor to the first floor. The first flight brings you a hall with an authentic stone floor from the 700’s with antique furniture.
The first three bedrooms on the 1st floor can be reached by second staircase lined with authentic 18th and 19th century paintings.
The 1st bedroom is equipped with an antique double bed dating back to the 800’s (easily converted to a twin if necessary), an extra single bed, and an en-suite bathroom with shower. All three bedrooms on this floor enjoy direct access to a spacious, terracotta-floored terrace with sea & mountain views. The terrace is perfectly equipped for breakfast with a table, chairs, and large umbrella offering guests 260 degree views.
The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both boast double beds and en-suite bathrooms. One of the bathrooms enjoys a nice balcony, while the other is handicap accessible. All bedrooms are equipped with antique furniture dating back to the 18 & 1900’s, parquet floors, wood ceilings, antique paintings, small screen TV’s, and en-suite bedrooms with a shower.
The second floor can be reached by a flight of 12 steps from the first. Another three bedrooms are located on the 2nd floor. The 1st (4th actual bedroom) has a double bed (convertible to a twin) and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. It boasts a small balcony with a wonderful sea/mountain view.
The 2nd bedroom (the 5th actual bedroom) enjoys a separate access. This is the largest bedroom of the three on this floor and enjoys its own hall equipped with antique furniture. The bedroom enjoys a double and two extra, single beds, a panoramic window, and en-suite bathroom with a balcony.
The 3rd and the last bedroom on the second floor (the 6th actual bedroom) enjoys a double and a single bed and en-suite facilities with great sea & mountain views from a window.
A flight of 13 steps bring you to the third floor. Just like the ground floor, the 3rd floor is divided into various areas, each with views of the mountain & the sea. The 3rd floor enjoys a living area to equipped with antique pieces from the 18th & 19th Century, such as sofas, chairs with armchairs, and beautifully decorated antique mirrors. There is also a desk in the corner, perfect for work in a comfortable atmosphere. A modern Flat screen TV completes the room. A fireplace complete this part of the floor.
The dining room boasts a table with chairs connected to a second kitchen equipped with a glass topped table seating 7. This kitchen enjoys a bar with a double sink & 5-burner stovetop and decorated with an old Berkel slicer. There is a white-wall cupboard equipped with an oven, refrigerator etc. There is a ½ bathroom nearby the kitchen.
*Notable: The bedrooms can also be accessed by a handicap chair on the staircase banister (on request).
